RADIO FREQUENCY

What is Radiofrequency therapy in pain and how is it applied?

Radiofrequency therapy in pain; It is the deactivation of nerve conduction fibers in the area that constantly produces pain. Without damaging the nerves or tissue in this area, the regulating effect of radiofrequency on the nerves in the area where it is applied is utilized. Thus, long-term or permanent pain relief is provided.

By providing sterile conditions, a special device and a very high vibrating current are applied to the nerve fiber carrying the pain through a special cable and needle, in a way called “small interference”. Thus, in interventions using this device, a certain nerve is stimulated in a controlled manner and the ability of the nerve to transmit pain signals is lost.

What is the difference between radiofrequency application and other treatments?

Radiofrequency applications, which give effective results especially in low back, neck, back and knee pain, have many important advantages compared to other treatments. The procedure is generally painless and does not require surgery.

It is done under control with extremely sensitive devices, the place where the application will be made is determined precisely by the x-ray device and the process is carried out safely because it is determined by the electronic device.

Who is not treated with Radiofrequency Treatment?

• Having active infection during the intervention period,
• pregnant or likely to be pregnant,
• with bleeding disorder
• Patients with fractures of the lumbar spine, severe osteoporosis, sequestration (falling of pieces into the spinal canal), herniated discs, spinal tumors, and inflammatory diseases in the spine cannot be treated.
